Northwood – Charles Kenneth Hove, 78, of Northwood died Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center from complications with pneumonia. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Northwood United Methodist Church, Northwood with Rev. Rod Lanphere officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood. Burial will be held at a later date at Stateline Cemetery, Northwood.
He is the husband of Karen Louise Arrett. They shared 59 years of marriage together.
Charles was born in Worth County. He was the son of Orville and Myrle (Von Hagen) Hove. He attended Northwood Schools. He was employed at Grundmier Hatchery, North Iowa Builders, Northwood Methodist Church, and a custom subcontractor for Carrol George Inc.
He was also a member of the Northwood United Methodist Church and the Northwood Volunteer Fire Company for 30 years, serving as fire chief for some years.
He enjoyed golfing, tinkering, challenges and spending time with family and friends. He was a small time inventor of dies, jigs and any other creative innovations.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, smile and helping others any way he can.
He is survived by his: wife, Karen; son, Mark; daughter, Julie (Richie); grandchildren, Nicholas, Jamee (Tyler) Weber, Jordyn (Cody) Espinosa; great-grandson, Cale Espinosa; sisters, Donna (Bill) Weber, Cathy (Monty) Montagne, Debbie (John) Lutz; brother-in-laws, Donald Arrett and Richard Patterson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his: son, Todd; parents and in-laws; sister, Marlene; brothers, Orville Jr. and Larry Hove; sister-in-laws, Lois Patterson, Debbie Arrett; brother-in-laws Robert Arrett, James Arrett and Ivan Miller; great niece Cassidy Stehn and his four legged best friend, Sadie along with many friends at the Nasty Nine.
