Veronica “Ronnie” Ann (Wagner) Anderson, 96, of Carpenter died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date and will be announced later. A private committal will be held with only the immediate family. The committal will be at the Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Carpenter.
Veronica was born September 19, 1923 on a farm near Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Barney and Katherine (Schneider) Wagner. She was the oldest of four daughters born to Barney and Katherine. Ronnie was united in marriage to Harvey Anderson on September 19, 1941 in Northwood, Iowa.
Ronnie lived most of her life in Carpenter, Iowa. She worked at the Northwood Home and St. Ansgar Nursing Home while raising five children. She enjoyed gardening (especially her roses), embroidery, making jam, baking and cooking for her family. She loved traveling with her children and was able to see: Niagara Falls, Washington D.C., Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, sites in California. One of her favorite trips was a trip to Santa Monica to see her double cousin. She was a kind gentle soul who thought of others before herself. Ronnie enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes with her kids. She loved her Lord and enjoyed studying the Bible and read her devotions daily. She knew every book in the Bible and loved memorizing certain scriptures which gave her peace.
Veronica was preceded in death by her: parents; husband, Harvey; sister, Dorothy, step sisters, JoAnn Holgate, Geraldine Hendershott; step brother, James Wolf; brothers-in-law, Elmer Klapperick, Leo Hemann, Arnold Stanek; and sister-in-law, Kay Wolf.
Left to cherish her memory are: children, Gary Anderson of Westby, Wisconsin, Ann (Dennis) Christensen of Riceville, Keith, Marilyn and Patricia of Carpenter; sisters, Marion Stanek of Rifle, CO and Jeannette Klapperick of Austin, MN; step brothers, Albert Wolf of Austin, MN and Robert Wolf of Buffalo, WY; five grandchildren, Kathy (Dean) LaRue, Kevin (Tracie) Christensen, Lisa Turben Anderson, Brian (Melanie) Anderson and Sara Anderson; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
